Blog #4: Akon Update And My New Kyte Phone
What’s up everybody? I just got back from an overseas trip with Akon to play his new album, Acquitted, to the heads of Universal in Europe. Akon sold 3 million copies of his last album in the US but something that even surprised me was he sold 500,000 copies in the UK. To put that in perspective Jay-Z’s last album sold 70,000 copies in the UK. Akon is the highest selling urban artist over the past two years in the UK. It’s amazing to see what a broad fan base he has.
That being said the new album is shaping up to be another monster. Akon produces all his own music so it’s not the type of project we hear a song here or a song there. My first listen is always to a completed album. The two records that really jumped out to me are “Hold On” featuring Michael Jackson and “Holla Holla” featuring T Pain. I don’t know what the first single is going to be yet, but the album is coming in October.
On another note, I just got a Nokia N95 from Kyte. If you arent’ familiar with Kyte you can check out a video from Shontelle’s Kyte channel. I will be live blogging from all over with my new phone so make sure to look out for it.

Congrats on your new phone. I still feel that I deserve a phone, as I KNOW I had to be one of the first 2,000 callers to your hotline, but, I forgot to leave my name and address then?
Oh well, I know I don’t “need” a cell phone, would just be nice to have, as I plan on “maybe” driving long distances on my own in the future, with my son in the car with me, and it’d be nice to have a phone to make a call from in case of emergency?
Somebody will get me a new cell phone to make up for the last one I lost that hubby had gotten for me (free, too, I think, lol), either it will be you, my hubby, or me, who knows, but, good things come to those who wait, I’m sure?

My hubby is upstairs sleeping soundly now, I think, or else he is just laying there thinking and meditating, only God knows for sure…what are you doing?
All seems calm, all seems bright, in my household, and world right now, I still have some fears that I have to conquer, worrying over whether hubby will “leave” me in the future when I get older and uglier, but, that’s the only thing really bothering me.
The kid, my son, is safe and I know where he is and who he’s with, and that’s all that really matters to me, I guess, except for serving and praising My Lord. I pray your kids are well and safe and happy, and that all is calm, all is bright, in your world. Can’t wait till “our” worlds collide, I think it is going to be SO funny! I want you take vids and pics of my entire crazy multicultural family like crazy, except try to keep “me” out of the pics, I am not happy with my physical appearance right now, need to lose more weight and quit smoking cigarettes, before I feel I can smile authentically for a camera
